3 Day Injury Prevention Course

This three-day course equips law enforcement instructors with essential skills to set, track, and achieve performance goals using techniques like periodization, progressive overload, and recovery strategies. The course includes training on movement screens for baseline data collection to inform exercise plans, goal setting, and return-to-work plans. Practical sessions cover injury prevention strategies, including effective warm-up and cool-down routines, stretching, and corrective exercise techniques to maintain musculoskeletal health.

We’re always looking to partner with new agencies to host our training courses. If your agency is interested in bringing a class to your location, please contact JD Leach at  (225) 921-6179. As a host site, your agency will receive one complimentary registration for every three paid participants.

Tactical Movement and Correction Program

The 1 Community Tactical Movement and Correction Program (TMAC) is designed to enhance performance and reduce injury risk through comprehensive, evidence-based assessment and individualized intervention. The program was developed by sports medicine professionals, health and fitness clinicians, and law enforcement leadership to ensure that each component is directly applicable to the work of an officer during all stages of their career, in any division.

The program includes a comprehensive movement screen that drives all decision making through the course of the program in order to provide evidence-based outcomes and interventions. A movement screen is a systematic assessment process used to identify risk factors for injury in individuals participating in sports, physically demanding jobs, or other high-performance activities. The goal is to evaluate a recruit or officer’s biomechanics, movement patterns, flexibility, strength, and functional capacity to detect imbalances or dysfunction that could lead to injury. Using VALD HumanTrak, a cutting-edge markerless 3D movement analysis system, our team assesses a wide range of single and multi-joint movements. This tool captures what the eye cannot see, without the cost or complexity of a biomechanics lab, and delivers instant, detailed results.

For academy programs, it is recommended that movement screens occur twice—once at the beginning of the academy and again approximately 12 weeks later to measure adaptation. For full agency programs, annual or biannual screens are typical.
